When are practices?
From July 30th – August 17th, practices are from 7am-9am Monday thru Friday. We will be going into the weight room and doing some team bonding activities that will be outside of this timeframe, but a calendar will be shared with everyone during August
Starting on August 20th, practices will be from 3:30pm-5:30pm
See Season Calendar for exact dates/times
Players are expected to be at every practice unless have prior approval from coach.
When are games scheduled?
Our first scrimmage is on August 14th and we have a number of games prior to the start of school. Generally we have one to two games per week.
What are the tryout expectations?
Players are expected to be in good shape prior to the start of tryouts. A conditioning schedule is posted on the West Potomac Sports website and can be used to prepare for the season. All players will be asked to run a timed mile and a timed two mile run. This is only one piece of information that we will use to make decisions on teams
New players will be evaluated on how well they pick up the skills of the game over the course of tryouts. It is recommended that players have some level of experience before tryouts begin. See opportunities to learn question
What opportunities are there to gain experience before the season begins?
Team is going to the University of Maryland – 1st Session
There are lot other camps around – ask Coach Hubbard for more details
Beyond the sticks – Summer league/camp
Rising 9th graders may participate in our own camp – July 9-12th, see website for registration
